My dreams about Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell

I sometimes have dreams about Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, which is not unusual because I spend a lot of time thinking about this book (more than I should). However, the only one that I still remember until to day was the one in which John Uskglass and Vinculus was a couple. The dream was weird because firstly, I didn't even think that John Uskglass/Vinculus was possible before I dreamt it and secondly, I had never seen anybody in the fandom ship them.

The dream was basically John Uskglass being desperately in love with Vinculus and trying to court him. I think in some part of the dream, they were married. The weirdest thing was that my dream self kept saying that I hated that ship and I did not think they would fit but they went against my expectation and loved anyway (No offense to anybody who actually shipped them, this is just an account of my dream).

When it comes to ships in the JSMN fandom, I basically ship every ship and ship nothing at the same time, which means I can read any ship and not feel passionate about any particular ship. I have read most of John Uskglass's fanfictions that I can get my hand on so I think I have read Uskglass's being shipped with everybody he is shipped with. However, I think that the romantic relationship involving Uskglass that most interests me (that doesn't mean I ship it though) is the one with the Cornish Witch. Because of the story of the Master of Nottingham's Daughter, I always imagine the Cornish Witch as some independent female character who was villanized because she refused to fit into the mould and rebelled against male-centric society but that is just my take on it. Maybe one day when Clarke finally release her book, the Cornish Witch will turn out to be a typical manipulative, evil witch. We can never be sure until it actually happens.

Oh my goodness. Like you, I had never ever thought of Uskglass/Vinculus before. Wow. Now I almost want to read fic of it to see if it's possible!

Uskglass is clearly fond of Vinculus in his way (Uskglass wouldn't have made Vinculus so important otherwise). I can see them bickering like an old married couple. Perhaps Vinculus is the only one to stand up to Uskglass when everyone else is so deferent.

OMG maybe they actually are an old married couple. Sometimes I headcanon that Uskglass is happy to appear as any gender. Who's to say that Uskglass isn't one of Vinculus' many wives?

That sounds like one of those amusing folk tales about Uskglass. "That one time Uskglass thought he'd have some fun and accidentally fell madly in love."
